KUALA LUMPIR, June 24 – The Home Ministry will amend any act under the ministry that is necessary for improvement and to be in line with current situations, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein. He said the Home Ministry and agencies under it were ready to face the people in amending the acts even though the action may not be popular in the eyes of the people.Hishammuddin said improving the existing acts was necessary in view of the threats now being very much different from the threats when the acts were legislated. “Tomorrow,[today] in Parliament, I will answer regarding the Internal Security Act (ISA) in our effort to see its position, amendment and follow-up action ... including announcing how many have been detained till now under the ISA,” he said.
