WOULD THE CHINESE VOTERS INVEST?

Assalamualaikum,

The Chinese New Year is going to be celebrated on the 26th and 27th of January 2009. It is going to be about five working days after the Kuala Terengganu by-election, which will be held on Jan. 17. I would believe that there are Chinese voters who live away from Kuala Terengganu, and would probably be needing a balik kampung in order for them to cast their votes.

But since the space between the need to balik kampung to cast their votes and the need to balik kampung for the annual family gathering is so short , one may wonder if it is worth their while to perform two balik kampungs in such a short span of time.

Would the away Chinese voters invest in order to vote for BN? or would they rather spend the money for the much awaited family gathering and thus forego the their rights to cast their votes.

I would believe that they would exhibit the couldn't care less attitude for the by-election exercise and spend their money for the family gathering.

If such cases happen, and I believe they do, UMNO would lose some crucial votes.
